Our beloved has left us behind!
It is with profound sadness and grief that we announce that Anita Masson passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18th, shortly after noon.
Born in Koln Germany in 1946, her happiest childhood times were spent with her adoptive mutter und vater Katharina & Aloys WENIG.
Either side of this cheerful time lay the desolation of the Roman Catholic Church residential school system of post war Deutschland.
She came to Canada [Winnipeg] in the January 1964 coming from a moderate German winter in high heels to one of Canada's finest deep freezes. She didn't know what hit her!
Over the coming decades she lived in Ottawa, Toronto, Kitchener, Rockwood, Fergus and Barrie.
She worked at Turtle Wax, 999 Queen Street [AKA the 'Nut House']. It was here she met Irene Degner who became her best friend, confidante and Omie to Marc.
During this time she achieved her Diploma in Materials Management from Conostoga College.
That led her to automotive careers with Magna in Milton, Lear- Siegler Ontario and Oeitker in Alliston.
Along that journey she met and married David Masson and immediately became one of the Oakville Masson family. Sadly David passed away and again she was somewhat on her own.
She loved all of us well but none so well as her Ella 'Bean'. Along with Marc, Ella was her pride and joy – her Sunshine - her precious grandaughter – her 'Ella mauschen'.
Love simply – is!
I feel honoured that she was my wife, my best friend and our beloved!
