Arthur James Crawford
January 26, 1945 – June 4, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur James Crawford on June 4, 2026, at the age of 81.
Arthur was born on January 26, 1945, to his parents, Muriel Hunt Crawford and Harry James Crawford, both of whom predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his sisters Wendy Bower and Muriel Crawford, as well as his stepdaughter Annie.
Arthur leaves behind his loving wife, Barbra Pollard, and his sister Diane Dorion. He will be deeply missed by his stepchildren: Susan; Chris and his wife Ali; and George and his wife Ashley. He is also lovingly remembered by his son-in-law Brian, along with his many nephews—Steven, Mike, Kent, Greg, Oran, Harry, and Jimmy—who brought him great pride and joy.
To his cherished grandchildren—Sedore, Madison, Tyler, Lilly, Kadence, Radian, Xander, Ruben, Aidan, and Braidan—he was affectionately known as “Grampa Fart,” a nickname he carried with humor and love. He will be fondly remembered for making his famous “French flys,” creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Arthur lived life to the fullest and took great pride in the simple pleasures. He loved fishing, boating, and especially ice fishing alongside his good friend Chris Chezak. He found joy in working his vegetable garden and was known for making delicious sauerkraut, pickling just about anything, and enjoying a good whiskey.
In his younger days, Arthur was an excellent bowler and often shared stories of his time working in the carnival and in the tobacco fields—stories that reflected his adventurous spirit and hardworking nature. He was known for his strong work ethic and generous heart, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need—especially if there was a case of beer involved.
Arthur will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man who brought laughter and warmth wherever he went. His kindness, humor, and storytelling will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
