Betty Chavner

Betty Isabel Chavner went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning at the age of 93.

Betty lived a simple, quietly beautiful life, always making time for others. She had a laugh that let you know she was in the room, and a warmth that touched everyone she met.

She was married to the love of her life, John, for 66 years, until his passing in May 2019. Together they raised their children in Toronto and later made their home at the family cottage in Muskoka, where they enjoyed nature, golf, and skiing together. In retirement, they traveled through parts of Europe.

Betty was a woman of faith who prayed daily for her children and their families. She is survived by her two children, John (Shadow) and Susan (Lester); her grandchildren, Tara, Thomas, and Brennon; and her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Joshua, and Caleb — the legacy she cherished most.

Betty will be remembered for her warmth, her faith, and the joy she brought simply by being herself. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
