Brian Marne Saunders

Born in Essex, England, August 26, 1938 - Died, Barrie, Ontario, October 22, 2025

Eldest son of the late Commander Leonard Saunders and late Gwen Saunders of Victoria, originally England. Survived by his loving and most precious wife and confidant Charlotte (only daughter of Major Donald LeQuesne, MBE and his wife Helena of Toronto, deceased). The two were childhood playmates. Also survived by his daughter Fiona Dovell (Christopher), Cobble Hill, and grandchildren Lauren, Ashley and Samantha: son John (Alberta) and grandchildren Reagan and Logan. Also, siblings, Malcolm (UK), Christopher, Peter, Phillip in Canada, and numerous cousins in the UK. Also, many friends in New Zealand and Australia. Predeceased by brother Tony (2002) and dearest sister Brenda (2008).

Brian had a full and adventurous life as trust officer, auditor, professional horticulturalist and yachtsman who lived in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. He enjoyed nonfiction reading, fine dining,

classical music, and good wine. In retirement he and Charlotte travelled overseas annually plus two complete round the world journeys -first eastward, and later westward to recover the lost day.

No service by request. Cremation has taken place with interment in York Cemetery, Toronto. He hopes family and friends might raise a glass of fine wine in his memory.

Brian considered life precious but ephemeral. He enjoyed an interesting life
