Casey R. Sweers

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Casey Ronald Sweers on September 15th, 2025, at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Casey was as beloved Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend.

He will be remembered most for his love of music and the joy he found playing his guitar. A simple life spent with a fishing rod in hand and a cold beer nearby was Casey’s greatest happiness, and how he will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.

He was predeceased by his Mother, Gail Hand, and his Brother, Stephen Sweers. Survived by his Father Keith and Jordana Sweers. His Siblings Randy (Elena) Sweers, Terry Hand, Jay (Kim) Hand, Martin (Jill) Hand and Mary Hand. Along with all his nieces and nephews who loved him very much.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all who came together to honour Casey’s final wishes with a fishing trip and barbeque prior to his departure.

Special thanks are also extended to Hospice Barrie for their Exceptional care, compassion and hospitality during his family days.

Casey will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.

Friends and family will be received for a Celebration of Life Gathering at Legacy Funeral Home, 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie (parking and entrance on Hwy 400 side of building) on Friday, October 3rd, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
