With family by her side, Catherine passed away at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the age of 72. Loved mother to Kendall Garry (Andrea Garry), and Lindsey Grant (Michael Grant). Devoted grandmother to Madison Jane Grant, Laura Catherine Grant, Kingsley Blair Garry and Dylan Rose Garry. Partner to Ron Smith. Dear sister to Bill Shaw. Catherine will be forever loved and remembered by her oldest and cherished best friend James Garry and best girlfriend Carol Bjorgan.

Catherine dedicated her life to her family, embodying love with every smile and every kind act. Throughout her journey, she radiated positivity and inspired those around her to embrace the brighter side of life.

Catherine had a profound love for her family, and her proudest moments were spent baking cookies in the kitchen, surrounded by the laughter of her adored granddaughters. These simple yet cherished experiences defined her spirit and left a lasting imprint on the hearts of those she loved.

An avid fan of 70s soft rock music, Catherine often found herself humming along to the melodies that brought back memories of sunshine-filled days and warm evenings spent with friends. She embraced life with a positive attitude, enjoying her days on the golf course and traveling with her dear friends Carol and Patti, seeking out adventures in places where the sun shone bright.

Catherine’s presence will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of love and positivity will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Friends and family will be received at Legacy Funeral Home, 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie (parking and entrance on Hwy 400 side of building) on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for an informal time to share stories and celebrate Catherine’s life.
