David Dewes

It is with sadness, that the family of David “Dave” Dewes announces his passing on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 after a sudden and brief hospitalization at Royal Victoria Hospital.

He was predeceased by his parents Norman and Alma Dewes and his beloved partner, Iryna Logvynenko. Dave will be fondly remembered by his brother and sister in law, Michael “Mick” and Mariann Dewes; his Children - Erin (Dave) Gionet, Peter (Amy) Dewes, and step-son Alex (Elena) Logvin and Grandchildren - Kaleb & Meghan Gionet, Olivia & Gabrielle Dewes, and Vladlen & Ksenya Logvin, cousins, and close friends. Dave lived in Sandy Cove Acres for the last 9 years where he joined other friends walking, playing cards and pool. He enjoyed time with his special friend Mercedes who periodically came to visit. Dave was a “man’s man”. He was happiest outdoors fishing and hunting as well as watching hockey and baseball. He loved dogs, the fresh air, and cheerfully greeted anyone he passed on the street. A service in Dave’s memory will be held at Legacy Funeral Home 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 1 o'clock p.m. Internment will take place at a later date at Penetanguishene Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dave’s name may be made to Parkinson’s Canada.
