It is with sadness that Denise’s family announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie.
She is the beloved wife of Jerry, and they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on December 6, 2025. The much-loved mother of Melissa Harper (predeceased Sept. 21, 2023) and mom to beloved dog Sam.
She is also predeceased by her parents, mother Leontine, née Trahan (Nov. 23, 1978) and Father Al Mortier (Nov. 20, 2019).
Denise will be loved and missed by her siblings Paul Mortier (Barb), Jeannine McGahan (Larry), Helen Mortier (Steve), Ben Mortier (Liz), Allan Mortier (Mindy), Mike Mortier (Kim), plus many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Her family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hospice Simcoe, and would appreciate donations to Hospice Simcoe in Denise’s memory.
The love of family is life’s greatest blessing.
