Donna Marie McDonell (nee Berry)

On the beautiful, wintry night of Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie – with family at her side – Donna, 76, passed peacefully from this world into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Donna was an accountant and business owner who had devoted her life to serving the Lord and caring for and nurturing her family. From her days of volunteering with children and youth programs, to serving on committees and being active with the Christian Women’s Club, the Orillia Pregnancy Resource Centre (Board of Directors), Missionary Service Committee Canada (MSC), New Life Prison Ministries and more, Donna never stopped sharing the Gospel and demonstrating the boundless love of Jesus. Beloved wife of Ralph for 54.5 years. Loved mother to Melodi Schiafone (Michael), Kenneth McDonell (Lori-Anne), Christopher McDonell, and Michael McDonell (Cheri). Cherished grandmother of Taylor, Sarah, Aaron, Spencer, and Sophia. Donna will be forever remembered by her brother-in-law, Doug McDonell (Pat); nephew, Alan McDonell (Jackie); niece, Linda McDonell (Gareth Clemo); great nephew, Thomas McDonell; sisters by choice, Joanne Vasquez (Galo) and Linda Tankard (Rod); extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Percival and Edith Berry. A funeral service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 374 Salem Road, Barrie, on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 2 O’clock p.m. with a reception to follow. Spring interment will take place at Barrie Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse or any of the charities Donna held close to her heart.
