Ella Majbrit Brennan
Dec. 12, 1930 – Nov. 2, 2024
Our warrior princess has laid down her sword.
Wife of Lawrence Brennan (predeceased 1997) and loving partner-in-crime and all things fun, Ed Skinner, for the last 18 years.
Loving mother of Robert (Patricia), Catherine, Greg (Darlene) and Lisa (Tim).
Beloved grandma of Jason, Larissa, Aimee (Oliver) and Cassandra (Rick). Great Grandmother to Shaelynne, Penny and Isabella.
Loving sister to brothers Art Bentson and George Bentson (both predeceased) and sister-in-law to Lois.
Ella was our compass. Where she strode boldly, we trod in her footsteps.
Ella was a remarkable person known for her strength, work ethic, beauty and kindness. She approached life with fierce determination that inspired everyone around her. She gave her all, never settling for less than her best.
Beyond her strength, Ella’s beauty wasn’t just on the outside; it radiated from her heart. She had a kindness that touched so many lives; offering a comforting word or a helping hand without ever needing to be asked. People were naturally drawn to her; feeling at ease and uplifted by being in her presence.
Ella was committed to her volunteer work. She was awarded a 40-year service award for her work at Royal Victoria Hospital, volunteered for 20 years at the Barrie Legion and was a Cancer Society Fundraiser.
Abiding by her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held on November 28, 2024, in the upper hall of the Royal Canadian Legion; 5-9pm (410 St. Vincent Street, Barrie, Ontario. Entrance of Ferris Lane)
Memorial donations can be made in her honour to the Royal Victoria Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.
