Gary passed away peacefully, at the age of 80, surrounded by his children: Michelle Felix (Matt), Heather Roseblade (Ed Skrt), Scott Roseblade (Adrianna) and his grandchildren: Taylor (Keith), Colton (Nicole), Olivia, Nathan, Elyssia and Sierra Roseblade. Gary will be sadly missed by his sister Gail Ryman (predeceased Vic Ryman), sister-in law Nancy Hope (predeceased brother Bruce Roseblade) along with all his nieces and nephews. He will be met in heaven by his mother Lucy Marquita ("Markie") Roseblade, father Eric Roseblade, brother Bruce Roseblade and brother-in-law but more like a brother, Vic Ryman. Gary was previously the Town Clerk of Markham, Past President of the AMCTO, Deputy Town Clerk of Whitby and the Assistant to the Clerk at the City of North York. He grew up in Willowdale and attended Earl Haig Secondary school then went on to Queen's University for the Accredited Municipal Clerk and Treasurer program. During his career he attained the following designations: Accredited Municipal Clerk and Treasurer (AMCT), Certified Municipal Officer (CMO), Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), Advanced Academy for Education (AAE), Professional Municipal Manager, Level 1 (PPM 1) although his proudest designation by far was Grandpa. Gary loved golf, gardening, pin collecting, card collecting, model cars, music (especially 50's rock), dancing and of course making people laugh. He was himself right to the end, telling jokes. Gary donated to a multitude of organizations and his list kept growing. If someone around him was suffering, either physically or mentally, that organization was added to the list. He spent his last few weeks calling everyone in his phone book ensuring that they knew how he felt about them. He lived his life the way he wanted and did it his way.
If you feel the need to donate, please donate to either the Barrie Food Bank or a family in need of your choosing.
