Gizella Maria Szucs, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on January 9, 1936, in Buda, Hungary, Gizella's journey through life was marked by courage, faith, and an undying love for those she held dear.

In November of 1956, together with her beloved husband, Gizella embarked on a daring escape from Hungary, crossing the Iron Curtain on a bicycle. This act of bravery was just one reflection of her spirited nature, a testament to her strength and determination. Throughout her life, she embraced challenges with grace and persevered through adversity, instilling these values in her two daughters, Margie and Betty, who represented her pride and joy.

Gizella’s heart was deeply anchored in her faith. Although born a Catholic, her love story intertwined with faith saw her convert to the Baptist church upon marrying, further enriching her spiritual journey. Her passion for her religion was evident not only in her devotion but also in her consistent participation in church services where she formed deep connections with others in her community. Sharing her life stories and experiences brought her immense happiness, and through laughter and fellowship, she forged bonds that would last a lifetime.

A lover of music, Gizella found solace and joy in the melodies of her favorite musicians—Andre Rieu, Lawrence Welk, and Gaither's Gospel—their tunes often filling her home with warmth and nostalgia. She enjoyed the lively atmosphere at bingo nights and live music entertainment, where she could engage with friends and share in unforgettable moments. While she also relished her downtime knitting and watching television, it was her interactions with others that truly illuminated her life.

In her later years, Gizella faced some frustrations when expressing herself, a reminder of the complexities of communication, yet she never let this dim her light. Her ability to connect with others was inherent in her very being, and she continued to be a source of inspiration to those around her.

Gizella Maria Szucs is the beloved wife of the late Gabor and leaves behind her treasured daughters, Betty Walker (Paul) and Margie Delima, who will carry her legacy of love, faith, and resilience forward. Dear grandmother to Adam Hobbs (Amanda), Zachary Walker (Amanda), Jeffrey Hobbs (Stephanie), Cory Walker (Erika), Jillian Nguyen (Thien); Kaitlin Delima; and nine great grandchildren. Dear sister of eight siblings and loved by extended family and friends.
