Jacoba "Coby" Stiemer

We are saddened to announce the passing of Jacoba (Coby) Stiemer on Monday September 8, 2025 at the age of 89. Coby was the wife of the late Karl-Heinz and the dear mother of August, Alex (Fran) and Robert (Kim). Much loved OMA to Lindsay, Mitch, Kyle, Casey, Zachary and Noah and great grandson Brennan.

Coby was born in the Netherlands on June 16, 1936 and moved to Canada in her early twenties. Her career was in bookkeeping with her longest position being held at Texas Instruments in Richmond Hill. In her mid 50’s, Coby was diagnosed with Progressive Multiple Sclerosis but that didn't hold her back and she continued to live on her own until her late eighties when she moved into Long Term Care. Through the years she had many good friends and enjoyed visiting them regularly until the MS made that difficult. Through the years Coby took on some hobbies including Art classes for the elderly and crocheting and would sporadically get involved in groups primarily for the interaction with people. She always left an impression on the people she met.

We would like to thank the staff of Woods Park for their loving care of our dear mother.

Cremation has taken place.
