Jen Applegate

Jennifer Lynn Applegate passed away with her family and 2 fur babies by her side on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 on their family farm, at the age of 53.

Beloved wife of Drew for 29 years. A devoted and proud mother to Maddie Hunter (Owen), Benjamin Applegate (Jessa Gravelle), and Conner Applegate. Cherished daughter of Jane Cowden (deceased) and Keith Cowden (Karen). Dear sister of Keri Cowden and Michael Cowden (Ashlea). Dear sister in-law of Greg Applegate (Darlene), Glenda Astrauskas (Late Paul), and Laura Stelmachowicz (John).

Jen will be fondly remembered by all who knew her, including her furry friends Ruby and Hank. Jen will be remembered for her ability to love life, her incredible hosting abilities, her exceptional work ethic, and her deep love for her friends and family.

Jen enjoyed so many things in life, travelling, golfing, shopping, swimming in the pool and entertaining family and friends.

She fought a tough battle against breast cancer for just under 4 years. She is grateful for the amazing care provided by the Hudson Regional Cancer Program, St. Elizabeth Health Care services, friends and relatives.

Family and friends will be received at Legacy Funeral Home, 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie (entrance and parking on Hwy 400 side of building) on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 4 p.m. until time of service in the Chapel at 6 o'clock p.m. Reception to follow.

Memorial Donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
