John McCord

John Thomas McCord, passed at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at the age of 90. He lived a fulfilling life that was marked by a steadfast dedication to his career and a profound love for his family.

Throughout his professional journey, John spent many years working at CBC Television, where he was not only respected for his work but also admired for his unwavering dedication. His contributions to the industry were marked by a commitment to excellence, and he touched the lives of many with his insightful storytelling.

In his leisure time, John found joy in several hobbies and interests. He had a passion for organ music and enjoyed attending concerts that celebrated this beautiful art form. His love for radio and trains was also well known; he often shared stories and experiences that reflected his enthusiasm for life's quieter but equally fascinating pursuits.

Beloved husband of Joan Frances McCord (nee Miller) for 67 years. Loved father of Marty Joan Halliday (Shawn), Janet Margaret Vespera (Jerry), and Catherine Ruth McCord. Cherished grandfather to Katie, Jonathan, Meagan, Matthew, and Lauren. Great grandfather to Hunter and Austin.
