John Quesnel

John Ryan Quesnel passed away peacefully at home, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and deep connection with all who knew him.

He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Ilona; his sons, Ryan (Jana) and Mark (Heather); and his cherished grandchildren, Kyler, Kadian, Ryker, Jacob, and Lauren. John is now reunited with his parents and brother Harry (Mary), who predeceased him. He will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends.

John was a bright light in this world. Truly one of a kind (uniquely unique). Loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him from Montreal to Mississauga, to Barrie, to Calgary and Lindsay.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures like fishing, music, playing guitar and creating songs that brought laughter to those lucky enough to hear them. Through his retirement he enjoyed playing badminton golf, tennis, shuffleboard and pickle ball. His fondest memories were sitting around a table with family or friends playing cards and games and making people laugh.

In keeping with his wishes, no public services will be held. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Victoria Hospital Barrie Cancer Fund. John’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
