Judy Lem Profile Photo

Peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the age of 89. Loving wife of Jim Lem (deceased); mother of Tim Lem (Ann), and Andy Lem (Lin). Cherished grandmother (yen yen) of Jarrett, Victoria, Alexandra, and David. Survived by her siblings Chieh Ying Chow, Betty Ing (Daniel), and Hannah Chong (James). Predeceased by siblings Mary Woo, Tim Fook Cheung, and Donna Chong. Will be sadly missed by many nephews and nieces, extended family and friends.

We lost a beautiful spirit with Judy’s passing. She had a way of making those around her feel important and loved. She was a person who may have been small in stature but her heart, will, determination, and capacity for love and kindness touched all who came to know her. Longtime Barrie residents will remember her from the Roy Lems Café and Miramar Gardens. Her gentle smile hid a work ethic that outmatched many. Her spirit charmed and inspired those who came to know her. Even near the end, her nurses and doctors at the RVH remarked on the incredible fight she put forth all the while showing tremendous grace and dignity. That was Judy. That was our mom.

Visitation will take place at Legacy Funeral Home 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie (parking and entrance on Hwy 400 side of building) on Sunday, June 29, 2025 from 1:30-3:00 pm followed by funeral service in the Chapel at 3 o'clock p.m. A private family interment will take place at Barrie Union Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations to the Terry Fox Foundation or the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
