Larry was born on March 21, 1941, in Alliston, Ontario, to Ken and Irene Connell. Loving brother to the late Shirley Walsh (the late Bev), the late Bill (Gail) and Elaine St. Pierre (the late Garry and Ron). From the very beginning, family was at the heart of who he was—a value that stayed with him throughout his life.

Larry was a devoted father to Laurie Good and Chris Snider, a loving stepfather to Lynda Bruining and Vanessa Bruce, and a proud grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He took great joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his love for them was steady, unconditional, and unmistakable. He was also a “bonus Papa” to many—because once Larry welcomed you in, you were family for life.

Larry shared a beautiful chapter of life with his wife Maureen, whom he married in 2007. Together they traveled, explored, and made memories—spending winters in Texas, listening to country music, dancing, enjoying the countryside, and sampling local food. Those years were filled with laughter, music, and deep companionship.

Larry was a man who loved the simple things done well: country music playing in the background, trucks, antique car shows, and a good conversation. He worked hard his entire life, proudly owning and operating with Canadian Tire for 24 years, driving nearly two million accident-free miles—a true testament to his dedication and skill.

He was also a true MacGyver. There was very little Larry couldn’t fix, and even less he wouldn’t try to fix for someone he cared about. If something was broken, Larry would figure it out—quietly, patiently, and with determination.

To know Larry was to know reliability, strength, and love without conditions. He may not have always said everything out loud, but his actions spoke clearly and consistently.

You will forever be in our hearts.
