Larry White (1941-2024)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and brother Larry White. He passed away at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Mary Jane for 55 years. Loved father of Dave White (Liz), Susan White, and Chris White (Teresa). Cherished grandfather of Lauren and Faith White; Madelyn, Nicholas and Abigail Livermore; Connor and Nathan White. Dear brother to Jerry White (Joanne), Carol Delo (Bob), and Bryan White (Patty). 

Larry was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a caring and generous man that would drop whatever he was doing at any time to help someone in need. Larry was very spiritual, starting and ending every day with prayer. He enjoyed going to the gym daily and keeping his yard looking great. After earning a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo he began his career at Ontario Hydro. Of all the names Larry went by, Grandpa is one that he cherished the most, loving all of his seven grandchildren very much.

Larry’s absence has left a deep hole in those who loved him. He will be missed immensely and thought of often.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John Vianney Catholic Church 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 11 o’clock a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Barrie. Following interment the family will be gathering at the White residence, 34 Murray st Barrie for food, drink and social. Please join the White family at any or all of the above. Everyone is welcome. If so desired, memorial donations to Hospice Simcoe or Covenant House Toronto would be appreciated by the family.
