Celebrating the Life of Linda Portelli
October 15, 1961 – October 10, 2026
It is with heavy hearts, but with deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, that we announce the passing of our mother Linda Portelli, at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on Saturday, October 10, 2026, just five days shy of her 65th birthday.
Linda was a loving mother, sister, family member, and friend whose heart had room for everyone. She had a special gift for caring for others, always willing to lend a helping hand, offer comfort, or simply be there when someone needed her. Her kindness, generosity, and genuine love for people touched countless lives, and she will be remembered for the warmth and compassion she shared so freely.
Above all, Linda cherished her family. Her daughters were a tremendous part of her life and her greatest source of love and pride. She treasured her family and friends, creating memories and connections that will continue to bring comfort and smiles for years to come. To those who knew Linda, she was more than a loved one; she was a caregiver, a source of strength, and someone who made people feel loved and looked after.
Linda also had an incredible love for animals. She generously donated her time to numerous animal rescues, giving her compassion and care to those who could not speak for themselves. Her kindness extended beyond words and into action, reflecting the loving and selfless person she was. One of her special accomplishments was checking off a bucket-list dream: swimming with dolphins. It was a wonderful experience and a reminder that Linda embraced life's adventures and found joy in making her dreams come true.
Linda is survived by her beloved daughters, Krystal, Rachel (Luc), and Taylor; her brother, Jim (Debbie); and her extended family and many dear friends who will miss her more than words can express. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Antonia, and her brother, Danny.
Although Linda's passing comes just days before a birthday she had been looking forward to celebrating, her plans for a birthday party will go ahead as scheduled. In true celebration of Linda's spirit, those who gather will have the opportunity to honour her life, share stories, laugh, cry, and remember the wonderful woman who brought them together. It will be a celebration of the love she gave, the memories she created, and the many lives she touched.
In memory of Linda, donations to the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society (OSPCA) would be a meaningful tribute to her lifelong love of animals.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and never forgotten.
