Lyle Edwards
February 5, 1942 — September 25, 2025
Lyle Morgan Edwards passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025 in his 84th year surrounded by his family.
Born on February 5th, 1942 in Midland Ontario to the late Roy and Roberta Edwards.
He was a beloved husband to Phillis (nee Graham) of 62 years. A proud father to his daughters Lisa, husband Brian Ayres and Lori, husband Todd Casier. He was a devoted and loving grandfather to his grandchildren Courtney, Cameron and Chad Ayres; and Grayson Casier.
He will be missed by his siblings Blayne (Sandy) Edwards, Carolyn (Don) Woodrow, Shelia (late Peter) Dunn and late sister Norma (Doug) Brown. Lyle will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, Lyle celebrated both big milestones and quiet moments with equal gratitude, always present and always sincere. Friends remember him for his warm smile, kind heart, steady presence and unwavering support through out all seasons of life.
Lyle had a remarkable ability to bring people together. Whether it was attending local sporting events with Phillis, sitting in the same familiar pew at church every Sunday, or gathering at the coffee shop for good conversations and easy banter, Lyle made every place feel like home and every person feel welcome.
The family would like the thank RVH staff for their diligent and loving care they showed Lyle through out his brief stay.
To commemorate his life a celebration will be held at Burton Avenue United Church, 37 Burton Avenue, Barrie on Saturday October 18th, 2025 with a brief Service of Remembrance at 1 pm. in the sanctuary followed by a gathering downstairs where stories, laughter and memories can be shared in his honor. Refreshments and food will be provided.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Burton Avenue United Church, RVH Foundation or a charity of your choice in Lyle's memory.
