It is with deep sadness that the family of Margaret Gill announces her peaceful passing at Royal Victoria Regional Health, Barrie Centre on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the age of 80.
Margaret was the beloved wife of Albert Gill, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, faith, and devotion. She was a cherished and loving mother to John (Molly), Brendan (Jenny), Dominic, Damian (Peggy), and Claire (Hatcho).
She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Maggie, Mira, Jaylynn, Kayla, Matthew, Andrew, Hovanis, and Fiona, and by her great-granddaughter Melanie, who brought her much joy and pride.
Margaret was a devoted wife, a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was rooted in grace, kindness, and unwavering faith. She lived her values every day through her compassion, generosity, and dedication to her family and community. Her gentle spirit and steadfast love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre for their care and compassion during Margaret’s final days.
Family and friends will be recieved at St. John Vianney Parish, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11 o'clock a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Road, Barrie. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall immediately following the interment service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to St. John Vianney Parish.
