Mario Moschella

Mario was born on June 3,1937 in Tarcento, Italy and passed away on May 19, 2025, in Barrie, Ontario.

Mario is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Antonietta, loving father of Maura, Giovanna and her husband Dino, Monica and her husband Gill. Dear grandfather of Isabella, Luigi, Victoria, Giuliano, Andrew, Amanda, Nicholas and Alex. He is also survived by his sister Lucia and brother Marino and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by Guido, Romano, Emma, Bruno, Silvano and Gianna.

Mario served in the Italian military, worked in Germany and Switzerland for three years before settling down. He came to Canada in 1968 to raise his family. He was a strong and humorous man, our hero. Mario was a funny storyteller, who loved to play Italian cards and worked in construction, retiring from the bricklayer’s union. He loved his sports especially soccer, fishing, football and hockey. One of his favourite hobbies was mushroom picking in the fall as his eyes would light up finding them. Our favourite memory is him yelling at the TV while his favourite f=sports team was losing or made a bad play.

I light is gone from our household; a voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in our home which can never be replaced. God gave us a beautiful husband, father, uncle and grandfather who never grew old. You were always there with a helping hand. No one can take our father’s place. May the choirs of the angels receive you and may you have rest and everlasting peace.
