Marion Louise Withers passed away peacefully at home, The Waterford Retirement Home, Barrie on Friday, November 28, 2025 at the age of 103.

Marion grew up in Beeton, Ontario and was the eldest child of the late Alexander Lennox Fachnie and Dorothy Marion Mair.

On November 22, 1941, Marion married Lorne Victor Withers. Lorne passed away December 19, 2012. Marion and Lorne's loving daughter, Elaine Carol Crossland, passed away on January 22, 2021, of ALS.

Marion is survived by her sister Jane Bennett of Oshawa. Predeceased by sister Patricia Ann Kennedy; brothers John Lennox Fachnie and Lionel Gordon Fachnie. Marion was blessed with many nieces and nephews throughout Canada and the United States.

Marion was a very talented seamstress who created beautiful outfits that she wore proudly. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and embroidering on her beautiful machine.

Marion enjoyed many trips to Collingwood to reminisce about her visits to her grandparents' home on Hume Street. We also visited Betty Pick who was a dear friend of Marion's that now lives in Collingwood.

Marion spent the last five years enjoying many trips, dinners and family time with Debbie and Eddie Ing. They will miss her love, kindness and wisdom. Marion was an inspiration to us all.

Marion was especially grateful for all the care and love that the Waterford staff, PSW's, and nurses showed her in her final weeks. Marion was truly blessed to have such caring people around her.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Legacy Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the spring in the Wither's plot, United Church Cemetery, Beeton, Ontario in the spring of 2026. A celebration of Marion's life will be held at the Waterford Retirement Home, 132 Edgehill Drive, Barrie on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 2- 4 p.m. in the Craft Room.

Marion was thankful for all her friends at the Waterford but especially Janet Hoffman and Rayner McCullough as they were dear to her heart.

"When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom filled room

Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little,

But not for long

And not with your head bowed low

Remember the love that

We all share

Miss me, but let me go."
