With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Murray William Yaxley on November 4, 2025, in Barrie, Ontario, at the age of 74.
Born on March 20, 1951, in Peterborough, Ontario, Murray lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication. He was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life - cheering on NASCAR races, relaxing with an ice-cold Labatt Blue, and spending time with his family. Murray also had a lifelong love for his CB radio, where he was known by his call name "Treeclimber", alongside his beloved wife "Lady Bug."
Murray was a hardworking man who took pride in everything he did. As a courier for many years, he was known for his reliability, his sense of humour, and the friendly way he treated everyone he met. He passed on his strong work ethic and family values to his children, who will forever be grateful for his example.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Mary Anne Yaxley, his sisters Suzanne Mandigo (Lonnie Mandigo) and Cindy Yaxley (Russell Cosby). As well as his brothers Teddy Yaxley and Stephen Reed/Yaxley.
Murray will be forever missed by his children: Murray Yaxley Jr. (Kim Yaxley), Christopher Yaxley, Junea Yaxley (Tim Hartwell), and Jeff Yaxley (Jessica Yaxley). He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 8, soon to be 9 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him endless joy and pride.
Murray will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and the way he could make anyone feel at home. He loved deeply and lived fully - always with a smile, a laugh, and a story to tell.
Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on through the love he gave and the lessons he shared.
