Norman Brian Micheal Cox (aka Brian, Buckie, Big Blue)
Passed away suddenly at is home in Barrie Ontario on June 18, 2025 at the age of 60. Son of Norman Armacost Cox (predeceased) and Mary Andrea Weller (nee Broughall) (predeceased), Brian is survived by his siblings Timothy David Armacost Cox (wife Susan), Daphne Suzanne Hale (nee Cox) (husband John) and William Andrew Tilley Cox, his step mother Frances and two nieces and two nephews.
As a young boy, Brian thrived when he was riding his horse at the family farm, spending time fishing and hunting and just being outside. He was an avid downhill skier, travelling to British Columbia on many occasions with his friends and brother Tim. Brian spent countless hours working on his trucks and snowmobiles and loved to go on “off road” trips with his friends. His most recent passion was his boat. This brought him great joy, along with a host of supportive, caring friends at the dock. Brian was also skilled with his hands: he spent time building all sorts of models: airplanes, trucks and boats.
Throughout his life, Brian was a tireless, dedicated worker, having spent more than 30 years with the same company.
Brian bravely navigated the challenges of the problems his body presented. He had recent hip replacements, but he lived with chronic back pain. His passion for physical activities and being outside were hindered in his later years.
Cremation has been entrusted to Legacy Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., Barrie Ontario. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Brian’s name can be made to The 705 Barrie (www.the705.ca/) or CAMH (www.camh.ca/)
