Norman passed away at Hospice Simcoe on Aug. 20 at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Milican, Ontario to John Leslie and Georgina May (Cowling) Smurthwaite. He had two brothers, John and Don. They moved to a farm in Innisfil, then later built homes on Sunnybrae Ave.

Norman will be missed by his loved ones and many grandchildren: Daniel, Davey, Riley, Keely, Molly, Dougal and Joshuwon.

He was a member of St. Paul’s and St. Peter’s Anglican churches and will be remembered fondly by his parish family. Norman was a dear friend and relative to many.
