R. Charles "Chuck" MacKillop Profile Photo

It is with profound heartbreak that in the twilight hour of Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, my beloved father took his last breath holding my hand at RVH in Barrie.

He was the second child born to Frazer MacKillop and Elizabeth MacKillop (MacNeil) in Sydney, Nova Scotia on February 12th, 1944.

Chuck left home at 17 to embark on a very successful career with the R.C.A.F. His career took him to many places in Canada and the United States, where he was recognized for his various achievements and accolades. Continuing in the workforce, he went on to innovate Bombardier’s legacy.

Chuck is survived by his sister Theresa (Sheldon Delveccio), his adoring daughter Maureena (Carlo), and his pride and joy grandchildren Anthony and Ava. He is now reunited in Heaven with his wife Mary of 50 years. Also left to mourn are many nieces and nephews, and precious doggies. Chuck is predeceased by his parents, brother Earl, and brother Frazer.

Family and friends will be received for a time of visitation at Legacy Funeral Home, 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie (parking and entrance on Hwy 400 side of building) on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, between 5-8 p.m., and a funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, at 11 o’clock a.m. An interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Road, Barrie.

Those desiring to make donations in memory of Chuck may do so to either the C.N.I.B., Unity for Autism, or OSPCA Barrie.
