With heavy hearts, the family of Randall “Randy” Paul Frank announces his passing at the age of 68, after a long hard-fought battle, with his final miles spent in the care of the incredible teams at Southlake and RVH.
Born to Gerald and Shirley Frank in Stratford, Randy grew up with a love for life, laughter and a good story. A Barrie resident, he was happiest surrounded by his three grandkids Bryden, Arabella and Charlotte Zweep, who brought him endless joy and purpose.
Randy is survived by his three children Melissa (Jamie Zweep), Thomas, Dylan (Burke), the mother of his children Julie (nee Dillman) and his beloved sidekick Sammy. His brother Gregory (Simone), sister Jerilyn (Bob), his lifelong friend Paul Landriault (Andrea), many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who will all miss him dearly. Predeceased by his brother Daniel (Susan).
A truck driver most of his life, Randy knew every back road and highway by heart-and could tell you where every Tims was along the way. When he wasn't behind the wheel, you’d find him behind a drum kit, keeping the beat in his band Sunn City for years.
Randy had a life-long love of the open road, riding his Harley Davidson was his freedom, his peace and the sound of his bike coming home will be deeply missed.
But Randy’s true happiness was found in the great outdoors-fishing rod in hand or deep in the bush during hunting season. He proudly claimed the ultimate prize of an 8-point buck and loved to tell many more stories of his years spent at his home away from home the Highland Hunt Camp.
The outdoors are calling and that's where all who loved him will find comfort in the memories of Randy’s life. He was a dedicated family man, who worked hard his whole life, and we will find peace in knowing he is surrounded by many loved ones of those who left before.
He’ll be remembered for his big heart, quick wit and his ability to make anyone laugh-whether on the road, on the water or around a campfire. Randy lived his life his way, with a smile, a story and a very loud song playing.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring-date to be announced (just a little late to the party, like Dad always was;)
