Richard Walter Cleaver March 2, 1957 – June 28, 2026
Richard Walter Cleaver, age 69, of Barrie, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Simcoe Hospice on June 28, 2026.
Richard shared 47 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lorraine. Together they built a life centered on faith, love, and family.
He was a devoted father to his daughter, Tara, and his sons, Joshua (Charline) and Matthew (Madison). Richard was also a proud and loving grandfather to Clara, Benjamin, and Thomas. He will be dearly missed by his sister, Mona (Larry), as well as his extended family and many cherished friends.
Richard lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep devotion to his family, and a lifelong passion for music and service. Throughout his career, he held leadership roles in technology, serving with Empire Life, Bank of Montreal, and London Life.
More than his professional accomplishments, Richard will be remembered for his love for Jesus Christ, his faithful commitment to his church communities in both Canada and Florida, and the way he used his musical gifts to lead others in worship and encourage fellow Christian musicians.
He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a faithful friend and mentor to many. His life reflected the words that became his personal mission: "For to me, to live is Christ." (Philippians 1:21)
Richard's legacy is one of faith, kindness, wisdom, humility, and quiet strength. His steadfast love for God and for those around him leaves an enduring example that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
