Ronald (Ron) Sokolik

December 18, 1951 – May 21, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share that Ron Sokolik passed away peacefully at home on May 21, surrounded by love. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Ruth, with whom he shared 51 years of unwavering love, laughter, and partnership.

A devoted son, brother, brother-in-law, and proud uncle, Ron was deeply loved by his family. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Jean, and his siblings: Marion Burke – Jack, Neil, Brittany, Michelle (Charlie); Margaret and Bill Snow – Aaron; Jeannie and Brian Percy– Matthew, Jessica. He is predeceased by his brother Barry – Cheryl, John, and Brian. Ron is also fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, Giles and Carol McMahon – Allison, Jonathan.

His many nieces and nephews brought him great joy and remained a source of pride throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, dear friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Ron will be remembered for his infectious smile, his love of the casino and racetrack, and his fun-loving spirit. His life was filled with love, good times, and a whole lot of laughter. At Ron's request, there will be no formal funeral. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held in the coming months to honour and reflect on Ron's beautiful life. Once confirmed, details will be shared with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to Hospice of Simcoe County, whose care and compassion meant so much.
