It is with sadness that we announce that Ruth Eleanor (née Coles) Isnor passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Roberta Place Long Term Care in Barrie, Ontario.  She had been in long term care for the past 2 ½ years.

Born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec on March 15, 1939, she grew up in St. Catharines, ON and later joined the Canadian Air Force in 1957, where she met the love of her life, Ken “Ike” Isnor.  They married in 1958 and later had three (3) children.  She loved to travel and she lived throughout Canada, the US and Germany.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Robert Kenneth “Ike” Isnor of Barrie, her son, Kenneth Jr (Jane) Isnor of Bedford, Nova Scotia; her son, Leonard (Debra) Isnor of Barrie, ON; and her daughter, Lori (Sanford) Hofmann of Peoria, AZ.  She was also a proud grandmother of her twelve (12) grandchildren and proud great-grandmother of her ten (10) great-grandchildren.

In addition, Ruth is survived by her brother, Charles “Charlie” (Edna) Coles of Fenwick, ON and her sister, Lois Hone of Hamilton, ON. 

She was predeceased by her parents, George Abel and Annie Olive Theresa (Bennett) Coles; her brothers, William “Bill” Coles; John “Jack” Coles and James “Jimmy” Coles and her sister Esther Coles.

The family would like to share a special thank you to the staff of the Roberta Place Long Term Care for their respect, comfort and dignity while providing care to Ruth.  Cremation has taken place under the direction of Legacy Funeral and Cremation Service Inc. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at Legacy Funeral Home 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 1 - 3 p.m.

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
