Ruth Styles

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Styles, who passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Woods Park Care Centre in Barrie, at the age of 91. 

Ruth was born December 2,1934 and will be lovingly remembered by her children David (Kelly)and Diane; her grandchildren, Colleen, Jennifer (Brad), Bradley and Alannah ( Nick);and her great grandchildren, Ethan, Mark, and Warren. She was the beloved sister of Gary Atkins and the late Alan Atkins.

Ruth found joy in the simple things in life. She had a lifelong love of Elvis, and her affection for animals—especially cats—was well known. She enjoyed spending time reading and gardening, and purple was her favourite colour. These interests, along with her warmth and caring nature, were a special part of who she was and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses, PSWs, and staff at Woods Park Care Centre for the exceptional care, kindness, and love they showed Ruth. Their compassion and dedication brought comfort to Ruth and her family during her time there, and will always be deeply appreciated.

Ruth will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Family and friends will be recieved at Legacy Funeral Home, 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie (access off Edgehill Drive, parking and entrance on Hwy 400 side of building) on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 1 p.m. until time of Service in the Chapel at 2 o'clock p.m. A private interment will take place at a later date.

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
