Violet May Peacock (Johnston) of Thornton passed away peacefully at the Barrieview Retirement Home in her 85th year.
Vi, beloved wife of the Late Reg Peacock.
Dear mum of Ruth Cooper and her husband Greg of Thornton, Nancy McDonough and her husband Tom of Midhurst, John Peacock and his wife Clementine of Bracebridge.
Loving Grandma of Kailey, Adam, (sadly missed) Ryan, Brandon and Emily.
Special sister of Nancy Elliott of Barrie and Loving Auntie of nieces Susan (Graham) and Heather (Paul) and their families.
Dear sister-in-law of Marlene Nurse (predeceased) and her children David (Cindy), Donna (Paul), Sharon (Ron), Franklin (Shelley) and their families.
Vi will be dearly missed by the members of the extended Johnson clan, special cousins and their families as well as numerous friends and colleagues. She was the former owner of the Innisfil Scope newspaper, long time employee of Georgian College, and a well-respected Realtor.
She contributed to CCF foster children, as well as the Assembly of Mapleview Community Church among other charitable organizations.
Vi was a cheerful volunteer all her life, she was someone who looked for the good in others, using her gift of encouragement to bring help and smiles to many.
Visitation will be held at the Mapleview Community Church, 300 Mapleview Drive W, Barrie on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 10 am until service time at 11 am.
Interment of Cremated Remains in Alliston Union Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy donations to the Alzheimer Society Barrie, 20 Anne Street S. Barrie, ON, L4N 2C5 would be appreciated by the family.
