William “Bill” Pattenden, born in Barrie, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 80. He was the third son of Harry and Mary Pattenden (née Miller).

Bill was the beloved husband and best friend of Beverly Pattenden (née Judges) for 57 wonderful years. Together they built a life centered on family, friendship, and community. He was a proud and loving father to Crista Pattenden and Amy Lyle (Mike).

Bill will be dearly missed by his siblings: the late Ross Pattenden (late Shirley), Ray Pattenden (Lynda), Lloyd Pattenden (Terry), Louise Cook (late Ken), and Marlene Wilson (Bob). He was also a cherished brother-in-law to David Judges and Karen Judges (Ann).

Nothing brought Bill greater joy than being “Poppa” to his grandchildren: Lauren and Rylie Prosser, and Nolan and Andrew Lyle. He took great pride in their lives and treasured every moment spent with them.

Bill will also be fondly remembered by his many friends, nieces, and nephews whose lives he touched with his kindness, warmth, and steady presence.

A dedicated member of his community, Bill was actively involved with Collier Street United Church. He also served as Chair of the Board at Collier Place and was a proud member of both the Kinsmen and Probus organizations. Through these roles, he contributed generously of his time and energy, forming many lasting friendships along the way.

Relatives and friends will be recieved at Legacy Funeral Home, 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 12 - 1:45 p.m. A celebration of Bill's life will follow in the Chapel at 2 o'clock p.m. Reception to follow. A private family interment will take place in the spring at Barrie Union Cemetery.

Memorial donations to RVH Cancer & Palliative Inpatient, Salvation Army or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
